The solution provides permanently connected, ADSL internet access to your organization at a fixed cost.

ScottNET has the following contract to offer:

• Month to month contract:
  • This entitles the user to sign up for our ADSL service BUT needs to purchase the ADSL hardware seperately. Any work done onsite, such as the router being setup, is charged out at our normal hourly rate of R 285.00 / hr.
  • 2 calander months written notice is required should you wish to cancel at any stage.

Permanently Connected
The connection is always available, whenever you need it. There is no delay while a dialup connection is established, and there is no need for user names and passwords to be entered and validated.
Email delivery is immediate. Emails are not backed up on servers waiting for your connection to be established. You can be sure that you will receive an email within minutes or even seconds after it has been sent to you - and your emails will be delivered just as quickly.

ADSL Internet Access
ADSL provides a high speed connection between your premises and the nearest Telkom exchange. Using the username and password provided by ScottNET, you will be given access to the Telkom-provided, shared Internet service. Telkom provides no guarantees on the way this service will be shared, and performance may be inconsistent. A maximum data capacity (combined incoming and outgoing) cap is placed on the service of 2 or 3 GBytes of data in any one calendar month. After this cap is reached, , your internet link will not function anymore and you will need to top up your account with more gigabytes.
The ADSL is also a fixed price that you pay per month.

REMEMBER THAT YOUR TELKOM EXCHANGE MUST BE ADSL COMPATIBLE.
