The Desktop and Laptop Backup service, powered by Attix5 and using Internet Solutions’ infrastructure, is a service offering from IS Hosting that intelligently backs up critical files - located on desktops or laptops - to a local or remote storage server. It ensures that your business data is safely under your control and securely available from any computer. Whether the user is connected to your network or has access to the Internet only, all remote devices used by a mobile workforce or staff located at branch offices can be backed up. 
Each device uses a robust JAVA client agent that works transparently on the computer in accordance with administrator-enforced settings that control the now automated backup policy. Data is compressed, encrypted and sent to the storage server which resides in the IS Hosting environment. The system backs up file changes only, ensuring minimum data transfer.

Desktop and Laptop backup to remote storage server
A backup client agent is installed on each device (either a desktop PC or a laptop) and backup files are relayed off site to a server hosted by IS Hosting in a secure facility.  This server can be shared (with other clients) or dedicated to your exclusive use. With this option you don’t store any backed up files on your local network. The storage server is mirrored by IS to an offsite location.
