How to add SMTP Authentication to Outlook Express

Requirements: In order to use this type of SMTP authentication you need to have a connectivity account with ScottNET. So either an ADSL or dial up client.

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Go to Tools > Accounts
  3. In the new window that opens find your pop3 email account and click "Properties."
  4. In the new window select the second tab, "Servers"
  5. Under the Outgoing mail (SMTP) change the server to smtpauth2.cybersmart.co.za
  6. Tick the box at the bottom that says: "My server requires authentication"

7. Click Settings in the new window select "log on using" enter your ADSL username and password (tick remember password)

8. Click Ok, Ok, and Close
